Scripture: So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD. Transcript: And now, Admonition. Deuteronomy chapter eight and in verse three, So he humbled you, allowed you to hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know that he might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord. Moses here tells Israel, God allowed you to go through the difficulties in the wilderness. God allowed you to go through the difficulties at this time because he wanted to test you to find out if you would be faithful to him. He wanted to know if you would learn the lesson that he was going to give you, and that is that you need more than this physical world to survive. You need what God will give you. You need the word of God. And when Jesus is tempted by Satan, what do we find? He used this passage to defeat the devil.
