“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially those who are of the household of faith.” (Galatians 6:7-10, NKJV)
Just as one will not plant corn and receive tomatoes, one cannot expect to harvest good from wickedness. The seeds of anger, malice, and hatred do not bring forth love, kindness, and peace. Nor do the seeds of covetousness and jealousy bring forth tranquility and contentment.
If we desire good in our lives, good must be sown by our hand. We cannot reasonably expect to receive in our lives something we refuse to extend to others. Therefore, if we want to be blessed in our lives with good things – be a blessing in the life of others. If we want to see others be more spiritually-minded, use our lives and influence to plant those spiritual seeds.
What are you planting in your life? Are you prepared for the harvest?
