Pray for the President Today – Admonition 201

Aaron CozortAaron Cozort, Admonition

1 Timothy 2

Timothy is instructed to pray for a number of different groups of people. Among them are the household of faith, but also the King.

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.

And now, Admonition.

Who’s on your prayer list? I hope you have one and I hope you’re praying for them, but may I encourage you to add a few more if you don’t already have them on your prayer list. Paul writes to Timothy and he says, Therefore, I exhort first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of things be made for all men pray for the world and all who live in it.

But he also says for kings and all who are in authority, if your prayer list doesn’t include your president, King, queen, or whatever you have, may I encourage you to put them on that list?

Pray for the king, prayed for the rulers they needed. Pray and respect the power of prayer. Pray for those who need it. Pray for those you love. Pray today.
